Ash Grove Medical Centre – General Medical Services (GMS) Contract

Following the surrender of the current GMS Contract which is due to cease on 1st September 2018, Hywel Dda University Health Board are inviting formal applications to provide GMS services in Llanelli for the patients of Ash Grove Medical Centre, Thomas Street, Llanelli, Carmarthenshire, SA15 3JH.

This INPS (Vision) practice provides services to approximately 7,700 patients, from a purpose built medical centre located in the centre of the town. Llanelli with a population of some 35,000 people is situated in the South Eastern corner of Carmarthenshire in South West Wales. It lies some twelve miles west of the City of Swansea and the Town Council's administration area covers approximately 2070 acres. Llanelli is a coastal town where the Welsh language is still widely spoken. It has a long association with the tinplate, steel, and coal mining industries, and is the home of the world-famous Scarlets Rugby Club. Llanelli is currently being transformed as it benefits from £60 million regeneration programme.

Following receipt of your interest, you will be provided with an information pack containing details of the current service provision, practice finances and a template against which you will be asked to complete a full business case.

A Health Board Panel will be convened to assess each business case, interview the applicants and make the final decision to award a new GMS contract.
