Be the doctor you want to be…and more

Are you committed to delivering the best quality patient care in an innovative and fast-paced service? Are you passionate about leading a team of clinicians?

At Care UK, the country’s leading independent healthcare provider, you can expect to work in a clinically-led environment with access to training, support and progression in your career.

We currently have the need for fixed and rotational GPs to join us on salaried or self-employed contracts at our new integrated care services in Dudley and the surrounding areas.

The integrated urgent care service provides a 24/7 non-emergency telephone service providing patients access every day of the year to the most appropriate care for their needs, without the need for repeated assessment.

The service is designed to improve and simplify access to non-emergency health care by providing assessment, advice and access to a full range of services including; specialist advice from a range of allied health professionals within the clinical hub, direct booking into primary care services and referrals into other services including community, primary and secondary care.

As a GP in the service, you will be expected to provide safe and effective assessment and diagnosis via telephone and email / online video consultation. In addition you will make timely decisions regarding future management, including advice and onward referral to callers who have been identified as requiring enhanced clinical assessment.

On shift the rotational GP will be accountable to the WM IUC Clinical Bridge team. Due to the nature of the role, the rotational GP will be expected to provide 100% of their time to the WM IUC Clinical Hub whilst allocated to that shift.
Routine audit and compliance responsibility will lie with the GP’s own OOH provider with input from the WM IUC Clinical Hub Clinical Lead into any extra audit/compliance requirements.

To facilitate joint working with other skillsets within the clinical hub, it is desirable for the fixed role to be physically located at the West Midlands IUC call centre, however subject to agreement GPs working for Alliance partner GP OOH services may be able to work from their base location.

In order to access the required systems to perform the role, GPs will be based either from the West Midlands IUC call centre, or from their own OOH provider call centre/office/base.

At this stage, remote home working is not considered appropriate for the role, although this may be possible in the future.

What's on offer?

A competitive salary is offered and a generous company benefits package, including indemnity costs. We are also able to offer Self-Employed contracts for these particular roles.

Should you wish you can also have access to work within Care UK's wider clinical services, ranging from OOH, Urgent Care Centres and Prison Healthcare.
