Opportunity

The practice based in New Zealand is looking for another GP with passion for helping a wonderful, mixed population with different health needs who wants to work 4 days per week so they can take advantage of the amazing country and life outside of medicine.  

You will need:-

  • MRCGP - it makes it easier for you to get fellowship of the Kiwi college
  • You and any family members you will be bringing with you should be healthy - NZ Immigration will not let you emigrate if you have serious illnesses that will cost NZ PLC a lot of money.
  • Usual Police vetting and immunisations

Being a rural practice we may be able to access up to $20,000 (plus the PAYE and 1.53% ACC levy) in two lump sum payments over a 2 year bonding period for eligible internationally recruited GPs from Te Whatu Ora Health New Zealand.

Our Tuakau doctors and nurses can help you with all of your health care needs. We provide modern, convenient and continuous care.

We are a rural practice situated in the heart of Franklin, approximately 50 minutes south of Auckland.

Our practice started out 30 years ago as a solo GP practice situated a little further down George Street. At the end of 2000, due to the growth of our practice, we moved into a brand new modern, purpose-built surgery which was larger and closer to the CBD of Tuakau.

We are a teaching practice

We offer a wide variety of services including general medical consultations, minor surgical procedures, routine immunisations, travel immunisations, sexual health clinics, women's health clinics, diabetic clinics, spirometry, ECGs, diabetic retinal screening clinics, podiatry clinics and blood taking services (booked appointments only).

Auckland - Why here and why now?

Auckland is considered one of the best cities to live and work because you can sail, fish, surf, dive, mountain bike and hike all year round within minutes of where you live and work.  In addition to the great outdoor life that the region offers, there are many arts, theatres, and museums offering a rich heritage rich in Maori culture.  

A 50-minute drive from Auckland Central will take you to Tuakau Health Centre, situated close to the Waikato River. In our semi-rural town, we are the only practice with around 6700 patients.  The Clinic prides itself on being patient-centered, providing excellent care, and being part of the community.  Since New Zealand is a no-fault jurisdiction, litigation is extremely rare, which allows you to enjoy practicing medicine and, most importantly, you can make a difference.
