We are looking to recruit GMC registered GPs to join our Expert Medical Opinion (EMO) team. Successful candidates will join a team of experienced GPs and medical management support staff who help our patients obtain an expert medical opinion from our database of internationally renowned experts. Most patients are seeking a second opinion regarding prior advice; the EMO team summarise all the key information and prepare the materials the expert will need to make their assessment.

Our services are commissioned through Private Medical Insurers and constitute private care with no extra costs to patients. Teladoc Health UK is registered with the CQC.

Location: Homeworking
Salary: £10K / session per year
Contract: permanent, salaried (no contractor options available with this service)

Role Responsibilities and Objectives:

  • To assist patients in obtaining an Expert Medical Opinion (EMO) regarding their medical condition.
  • To compile a comprehensive case report including medical records and imaging where necessary.
  • To select a suitable expert from our extensive database of international specialists.
  • To discuss the expert opinion with the patient and clarify any queries by liaising with the specialist.
  • To undertake regular triage sessions where the suitability of patients to proceed with an EMO is assessed.
  • The doctor will work as part of a supportive team with access to Clinical Lead and administrative advice and guidance.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Digital proficiency
  • A passion for healthcare especially digital
  • Motivated and committed to developing the knowledge and skills required for the role and for ongoing professional development
  • A dedicated and punctual professional
  • Previous remote consulting experience is desirable

 

Requirements

  • MRCGP Qualification
  • A minimum of two years post CCT experience
  • Able to commit to a minimum of 4 sessions per week.
  • Registered on the GMC GP Register with licence to practice, with ongoing annual appraisal
  • On an NHS National performers list (England, Scotland, Wales or Northern Ireland)
