Quarryside Medical Practice is looking for 2 salaried GP’s to join our team in Johnstone Renfrewshire.

We hold two sponsor licences for skilled worker salaried GP's.

Start date 1st August 2022 but can wait for the right candidate.

  • We are a practice of c 4,500 patients with a mixed demographic covering Johnstone and Linwood but also the surrounding Renfrewshire villages which provides lots of variety. The practice is based in Linden medical centre which houses 3 GP practices and is just off the A737 (conveniently passing the local starbucks en route). There is a large carpark and we are also within easy reach of the cycle track- we have a shower onsite.
  • We meet upstairs for lunch each day and hang out by the kettle in reception
  • The practice is signed up to the bike to work scheme.
  • Our team currently comprises 1 GP partners, 1 salaried GP, an ANP, a trainee ANP, practice nurse and full admin support. Our admin team carry out all read coding and file normal blood results. We are supported by health board employees providing: • phlebotomy cover 4 days per week • Community link worker support 2 days per week • Community well being nurses 2 days per week • daily pharmacy input for all acute prescriptions, discharge letters and out-patient prescriptions. We hope to introduce a pharmacist led clinic • Treatment room support
  • We teach FY2 doctors, ANP’s and pharmacists. The training is a team effort with all GP’s being involved in providing advice, debriefing and conducting tutorials. We try and maintain an open-door policy for all staff. Tuesday morning is our educational morning with a practice meeting for an hour followed by tutorials. The practice meeting rotates to cover clinical, educational, palliative, vulnerable child and attached staff.
  • We utilise technology through MJOG desktop which allows you to text information/ reminders to patients directly from your pc (integrates with EMIS) and using medlink solutions for chronic disease reviews and pill/ HRT and mood checks (this is an online review with excellent health education which the patient completes and returns). Docman upgrades include intellisense and iworkflow.
  • We have an automated blood pressure machine in the waiting area and Kardia machines. . Further services in the practice include a methadone clinic, contraceptive coil and implant insertion. The successful candidate would be encouraged to develop personal interests or become involved in these areas.
  • Current working is by initial telephone appointment which is converted at clinician’s discretion to a face to face appointment. Pre pandemic appointments were 15 minutes. We operate a duty doctor system to mop up excess demand and deal with anything that pops up. All bloods and workflow are ready in the morning so on a non-duty day when your work is finished, it’s finished. We have a low housecall rate. The practice closes at lunchtime except for an emergency phone for an hour- time for a walk or a run- there is a shower upstairs.
  • We are a GMS practice and offer the BMA model contract for salaried GP’s. Get to know us better by visiting our Website
