Lead GPs - Varied Part-Time

Contracts available in Bristol to suit the right candidate.

We are seeking to recruit up to 25 hours per week of GP leadership time, and the post holder(s) will be an integral part of Severnside’s existing medical, nurse/ AHP and operational leadership team. Applications are welcome from candidates seeking some or all of the available lead hours. The GP Lead role(s) include four or more hours per week of clinical work within Severnside.

BrisDoc's Severnside service provides urgent primary care across the 24-hour period. It incorporates what was formerly known as the ‘out of hours (OOH) GP’ service, NHS111 (which is subcontracted by BrisDoc to Practice Plus Group) and the Weekday Professional Line (WDPL). The WDPL clinicians support admission avoidance and facilitate admission for adult medical patients in BNSSG.

Severnside is also integral to the innovative BNSSG ‘System Clinical Assessment Service (CAS)’. The System CAS brings together a multi-professional, multispecialty (currently General Practice, ED, mental health, paediatrics) clinical team to assess patients who may otherwise be sent to the Emergency Department or 999. This innovative work supports ‘right care first time’ in an integrated way.

The Lead GP role(s) are key to ensuring Severnside’s continued success by supporting innovation, learning, quality improvement and the wider clinical and operational team. The successful applicant(s) will be keen to embrace change and support new ways of working. They will be able to nurture relationships within BrisDoc and externally as required. There is scope to shape the role(s) and support for professional development around successful applicants’ interests, background and clinical leadership experience. As a result, we welcome applications from colleagues with leadership potential but who may have little previous clinical leadership experience, as well as candidates with directly relevant previous roles or experience.

Location: Osprey Court, Whitchurch, Bristol (BrisDoc’s main offices), with the option to work flexibly and/or from home for a proportion of the hours.
