Advanced Paramedic Practitioner
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Paramedic Practitioner to join a highly respected and friendly practice. This well-established practice has a committed team and excellent performance against local and national requirements. They are a two-site PMS practice with six GP Partners, providing high quality primary healthcare to a geographically extensive rural population of over 12,500 patients.
They are seeking an autonomous practitioner working independently and in conjunction with other health care professionals within their professional boundaries to provide care for patients. To provide care for the presenting patient from initial history taking, clinical assessment, diagnosis, treatment, including prescribing and evaluation of their care.
They have a thriving team of nurse practitioners, working closely with our GPs, practice nurses and HCAs, as well as the fantastic administrative support staff. They are a training practice for registrars and medical students.
Main duties of the job
The right candidate will be confident in working independently to support GP surgeries. The candidate will be able to assess, examine, diagnose and treat patients or escalate them to a GP appointment, as appropriate. The ability to undertake some home visits is desirable. The candidate will be able to manage varying workloads and be confident to adapt to the changing demands of GP Practice.
Responsible for attending to patients who wish to be seen by a health care professional; diagnosing and treating patients presenting with minor illness seeing and advising people in respect of their continuing medical and nursing needs. These patients will have booked appointments at ten-minute intervals, be a phone call or home visit. There may be a requirement to see extra or emergency patients. The practitioner will need to prioritise and triage the needs of patients accordingly making any necessary referrals for investigations in the appropriate manner.
