The position offers scope to incorporate your interests combined with highly competitive remuneration rates.

About Us

The Chestnuts Surgery is an innovative, friendly and forward thinking surgery, located in the Garden of England, North Kent Coast delivering a range of services to our patients.  Where we lead others follow.  General Practice is changing at pace and we see this as a positive and opportunity to improve our services and implement new technologies to deliver a high level of care.

Our list size is 10,000 patients and our patient demographic encompasses urban and suburban residents. Sittingbourne falls within the London commuter belt and is experiencing significant growth and change. This means we have an increasing population of younger and middle aged families. We also look after one of the local nursing homes as part of the Primary Care Network. We are the lead practice for the Sittingbourne COVID -19 Vaccination hub which has successfully delivered a number of vaccinations to protect the residents of Sittingbourne.

Job Roles

We offer a dynamic mix of GP and nursing services for chronic and acute conditions as well as providing cover for extended access to support the Sittingbourne Primary Care Network.

GPs at the practice work in a multidisciplinary team to provide same day assessment as well as pre booked appointments. This includes a mix of Advanced Nurse Practitioners and a Paramedic Practitioner.

We are constantly looking at ways to improve our patient care and ensure we use a holistic approach working with our colleagues in the Primary Care Network and Community teams.

In addition to routine GP clinics we run a highly organised nurse led chronic disease service.  We have a fully developed network linked medication team including Clinical Pharmacists and Pharmacy Technicians providing significant savings in GP time.

We also benefit from the Sittingbourne PCN Social Prescribing Team and a First Contact Physiotherapist and Health and Wellbeing trainers. Setting up group consultations is a current focus for the practice to develop and give our patients an opportunity to share experiences, discuss ways of managing their chronic conditions and built a social network with other patients while improving the efficiency of consultations.

Our Offer

We offer a friendly and supportive environment for GPs to practice safely and effectively. The GPs and Practice Manager hold a daily catch up to discuss workload and provide support for each other. The Practice runs a modern and effective workflow management process that allows for GP workload to be delegated to other team members where appropriate.
