A unique role has opened for an experienced Clinical Team Manager to join an urgent care centre in Chippenham, for 37.5 hours per week on a permanent basis.

This full-time role is ideal for an experienced clinical manager that is looking to join an innovative care centre. Based in Chippenham, the role requires the coordination of urgent care to the patient populations of Bath & North East Somerset, Swindon and Wiltshire. There is an integration with the BSW CCG, with a high level of autonomy and complex decision making.

You will lead and manage a team of clinicians including Advanced Nurse/Clinical Practitioners, Nurses and Pharmacists to ensure the safe delivery of urgent care. Already qualified and working at an ANP/ACP level, the role is to provide both clinical care and managerial elements to support the wider team.

Key Duties

The role is both Practitioner and Manager level, including but may not be exclusive to:
  • Unscheduled care through assessment, diagnosis, treatment and discharge/referral
  • Independent prescribing with awareness of safety, invasiveness, cost and efficacy
  • Maintaining key relationships with internal and external clinical and non-clinical teams
  • Contributing as a member of the Service Leads Team, shaping the culture and core values
  • Leading the non-medical Prescribing team
  • Planning education and development of the team, driving quality improvement
  • Attending and providing in house training programmes
  • Creating rotas and managing absence effectively, managing recruitment
  • Managing the budget and resources within the team
  • Undertake audits and risk assessments




Package and Benefits

The role is both Practitioner and Manager level, including but may not be exclusive to:

  • £50,000 - £60,000
  • 37.5 hours required
  • Some autonomous sessions Out Of Hours, weekends, evenings and Bank Holidays
  • Up to 38 days holiday

Key Skills, Qualifications and Client Requirements

The successful candidate will be :
  • Qualified at Advanced Nurse or Emergency Clinical Practitioner level or equivalent
  • MSc in Advanced Clinical Practice/Skills
  • MSc in Independent Prescribing
  • Evidently working at a clinical lead level with management of ANP/ACPs
  • Experienced in autonomy within an emergency, urgent care, OOH or primary care setting
  • Confident with autonomous decision making and communication with external services
  • Familiar with urgent care/CAD systems
  • 5 years Post registration experience
