Job Details

We are very excited to offer ***new and exclusive*** opportunities to you. We are immediately recruiting for several salaried GP and Locum GP positions with a private practice near Warwickshire!

Our client has some absolute and essential criteria that you MUST meet in order to apply for this job:

  • Most importantly, you need an absolute minimum of 6 + years post qualified experience? Ideally you would have more than 10 years experience.
  • Are you frustrated by typical general practice and the restrictions of trying to provide excellent quality of care?
  • Do you wish to see more than the usual coughs and colds?
  • Are you passionate about delivering a high quality service to your patients?
  • Would you love working in rural medicine with a patient list size of your own to manage that offers inherent flexibility?

The client:

  • Our client is a private medical practice that provides 24 hour care to registered members only. They have a waiting list of patients to join as they continue to grow, which is why they are seeking GPs to join them on a permanent basis.
  • They are registered as a designated body with the GMC, they manage appraisals and revalidations for their GPs. They are CQC registered, and were marked as Good in 4 and Outstanding in 1 category in their 2019 inspection.
  • Each year our client has won various prestigious awards.
  • The practice was formed by two qualified partners who trained in rural medicine but were dissatisfied by how much general practice had moved away from providing patients with consultative and quality care. This private General Practice provide care to "members only", 24 hours per day, 7 days per week. All GPs are home working and you will completely be managing your own workload. No appointments are pre-booked, shifts generally involve triaging up to 6 calls per day, doing admin including prescriptions and referrals (which are then managed by the referral manager). Our client has excellent relationships with their secondary care network and so referrals are seen within 48 hours, and they have specialists on hand to answer any queries that you may have about your patients immediately.
  • Our client is therefore seeking very passionate GPs who wish to provide their patients with excellence in care and service, for which you are very well rewarded and looked after.

The Permanent Salaried roles that we are recruiting:

I must add again, that you really MUST meet the essential criteria listed above to be able to apply for this role.

  • We require two Salaried GPs to be located close to the East Midlands. Both areas have incredible schools and are beautiful places to live should you be keen to relocate!
  • You will be provided with intense training and job shadowing on how this private service works.
  • Starting salary is £80,000 p/a for which you will be expected to manage a patient list size of 30 to 40 households.
  • Salary increases up to £120,000 p/a for GPs that deliver excellence of care to their patients and whose patient list size increases up to 120 households. (Roughly takes 2 years to achieve).
  • All employees are entered into the Employee Share Scheme.
  • For GPs who reach the full patient list size will receive a % of the practice's annual profits.
  • You are provided with Health and Medical Insurance, along with the employer's 5% pension contribution.
  • CPD events are run every 6 weeks with away days paid for by the employer.
  • Although you are remote working our client has fantastic systems in place that you are always well supported.
  • Patient confidentiality is of utmost importance, since your patient list size will include many affluent patients. The practice's patients all tend to be very appreciative of the service and care that they receive from their GP, so you will undoubtedly gain job satisfaction.
  • You will be the point of contact for your patient list thus ensuring continuity of care is always provided. Rest assured that calls are always taken by a receptionist for you to then call back so you will not be bombarded at all hours of the day.
  • The role is all home based which involves making triage calls during 0800-1800 Monday to Friday, during hours that suit you most.
  • You will be required to manage your own workload which offers inherent flexibility. To give you an idea, on average you will only be making 5 or 6 triage calls per day, and will be visiting patients in their home up to 4 or 5 times per week.
  • This private general practice offer care 24 hours per day so you will be expected to be on call from 1800-0800 one day per week, and cover one weekend in five. Again to give you an idea, any visits required are only done between 1000-1600 and on call although is 24 hours, on average over the last 12 months this has meant GPs have been required to do 4 home visits and make 6 triage calls when covering one weekend in five. A receptionist does always take the call first, before passing to the GP to make contact. All patients are educated not to call on a weekend and very little ever needs to be actioned during this time since the service is only open to members only, and they do not offer emergency services.

The practice offers so much flexibility, an excellent salary and fantastic incentives. What they ask for in return is employees who can multitask, who are great at managing their own workload and most importantly, are so fed up with the restrictions of general practice that they are desperate to be involved with their patient's care and have a strong desire to offer quality and consultative care. Should you wish to really get involved in caring for your patients, to move away from seeing just the usual coughs and colds, should you miss really getting to know your own patients then this really is the role for you!

What our GPs think:

"...I have been working with the consultants for over 3 years now following a recommendation by a fellow GP. I cannot praise them enough. I have 2 recruitment consultants that I have regular contact with by phone, email and text-whichever method I prefer. My diary is always full, and should I need time off at short notice there is never a problem.

The consultants are keen to pass on positive feedback, and I must say they have become good friends as well as work colleagues. I have had offers of work from other agencies as well, but why leave the best?..."
