Job Details

We are looking for a visionary, forward thinking and innovative GP Partnership to take over the General Medical Services Contract in Longford House Surgery, Holyhead. The Contract will be available from 1st September 2019.

In the heyday of the mail coaches, Holyhead was the vital terminus of the London road and the main hub for onward boats to Ireland. To this day, there remain good road, rail and sea links via the vibrant seaport. The area has a rich prehistoric and Roman past, visible in the impressive herringbone walls of the 4th-century fort from which the town takes its Welsh name, Caergybi. There are so many attractions in Holyhead, not least the Puffins! Following the Wales Coastal path, you will encounter Trearddur Bay, South Stack Lighthouse, the man-made Breakwater to defend Holy Island, a Maritime Museum and St Cybi’s Church.

This Practice provides all essential, additional, and a range of enhanced, General Medical Services. Working with other Health and Social Care partners, you will develop and provide collaborative and innovative solutions to a diverse range of opportunities presented in the immediate locality and wider community.

You will work with the existing, experienced and dedicated Practice team who will transfer to the new Contract holders under TUPE regulations

List Size 4,732 patients

Please note that for clinical governance reasons,  the LHB would ideally wish to see a minimum GP commitment of the equivalent of two whole time GPs, but would be interested in discussing other multi-disciplinary models of care.

We would also welcome discussions with newly qualified GPs interested in establishing a Partnership to explore how we might support and facilitate this being progressed.

Further information on the financial aspects of this practice is available on request. This information will be an estimation only until detailed discussions take place with interested parties.

The closing date for Expressions of Interest is midday on Friday 10th May 2019.
