I help to make a difference!

Are you collaborative, caring and compassionate?

Prisons are one of the most challenging, yet rewarding places for healthcare professionals to work - if you’re looking for a role where you can develop your existing skills and learn something new every day, then this is the place to be.

As a healthcare provider, we recognise the fact that prisoners are a socially excluded group with complex healthcare needs that can often be associated with poor outcomes. We believe in putting the patient first, regardless of the environment or their history.

Care UK is the Health in Justice market leader; 2 years ago we were managing 12 prison healthcare services and in 2018 we're providing healthcare services in over 40 prisons across the country.

We can offer training and development in our friendly and supportive teams as well as full-time, part-time and bank opportunities and a range of other employee benefits.

Looking for the next challenge?

This new unique role will help shape the policies and strategies for developing and modernising medical practice throughout the service line in order to ensure high quality, safe and appropriate healthcare services for patients. This role will work with and support the National Medical Director and the Deputy National Medical Director. You will pick up 1 session per week to cover this role in addition to working on a salaried basis at one of our local sites in the region.

The sites within this region are: HMP Highpoint, HMP YOI Warren Hill, HMP YOI Hollesley Bay and HMP Stocken.

What you will get in return..

Receive an annual salary of £120,000 per annum (pro rata for part time application)

You'll also get a number of benefits including a company contributory pension scheme, 25 days annual leave plus 8 public bank holidays plus CPD and reimbursed indemnity.

Other benefits include cycle to work scheme plus training and clinical development opportunities.

What we need from you..

Registered with the GMC, you'll utilise your skills providing dynamic leadership of the medical profession across our Health in Justice services; you'll be pivotal in engaging the medical workforce to support delivery of key objectives, values and resources ensuring we have a highly effective, quality medical workforce.

Please see attached JD for full details.

Next Steps..

If you are shortlisted, you will be contacted by Alex Tigwell, the Internal Recruiter for this role.

The recruiter will submit your CV to the hiring manager and in turn Alex will arrange an interview for you to attend if the hiring manager feels that you are suitable for the job.

For further information about the role, please contact Alex on: 01189 521869 or email: alexandra.tigwell@careuk.com

(Strictly no agencies please - we do not accept speculative applications).

Further Information

You will be based on one site within the cluster although frequent travel is expected across our Health in Justice Services, regional offices when required (London, Leeds, Reading, and Wolverhampton) and other locations as deemed appropriate by your line manager.

Please note that offers of employment are subject to Care UK Terms & Conditions, receipt of satisfactory references, enhanced DBS check and prison vetting.

At Care UK, we actively promote diversity and equal opportunities.
