GP - Beachside living on New Zealand's north island

The Position

Rare opportunity for a GP to join a fabulous practice in one of New Zealand’s most stunning areas. The practice is based in the coastal city of Tauranga in the Bay of Plenty on the north island.

You will work as part of a team of GPs and nursing and allied health staff who support the local community.  Alongside general practice they run nursing clinics on chronic care, immunisations, fracture clinic and healthy lifestyle. All GPs take a share in the after hours roster in Tauranga which is not onerous.

The Location

Tauranga is a beautiful city on the Bay of Plenty region of the North Island. It’s a coastal city with a population of 130,000 and a subtropical climate with warm summers and mild winters.

Tauranga has a buzzing waterfront area which is modern and home to a number of cafés, restaurants, pubs and nightclubs. Across the road on the water’s edge, children are easily entertained at the local playground

Tauranga’s harbour is in evidence almost everywhere you go, providing the urban area with an attractive waterfront setting. Fishing, sailing, diving and dolphin tours are easy to arrange, or check out one of the local beauty spots – McLaren Falls or the Kaimi Mamaku Forest Park.
