Job Details

Greenbook Healthcare, the out-of-hours provider for Greenwich and Lewisham are seeking to add on-call visiting GPs to their overnight rota.

Supported by a base team at Queen Elizabeth Urgent Care Centre the on-call visiting GP will be on-call between the hours of 2am to 8am.  Should a patient require a home visit (having been telephone triaged by GP at clinical base) you, as the on-call GP, will be called at home, collected by our driver, issued with relevant notes (from Adastra), necessary drugs, equipment and forms and taken to the patient’s home by our driver where patient visit will take place.  Once complete you’ll need to update patient notes on the Toughbook or should you prefer return to base to update notes there. You’ll then be taken back home by our driver.

It is our experience that during these hours patient visits are relatively infrequent, on average one call-out every two nights. Therefore we’re seeking GPs who, perhaps on account of in-hours commitments are unable to undertake regular, traditional out-of-hours work, but for whom this standby position would be appealing.

A generous rate of £180 is offered to be on call, with an additional £90 per call out. Regular sessions are available Monday – Sunday, so flexibility can be offered in partnership with additional GPs to fit around your other regular commitments.

Company

We're looking for General Practitioners to join our Urgent Care Centres (UCCs). Greenbrook Healthcare is the leading provider of Primary Care Led UCCs in and around London. As a GP working with us you will have the opportunity to develop your skills working alongside Emergency Nurse Practitioners and seeing a wide variety of patient presentations.

We’re committed to putting patients first and delivering high quality patient care. We’re a clinically led organisation with a supportive operational team to ensure your time is spent treating your patients. Although the patients you’ll see will remain within your skillset as a GP, it's a different working environment to traditional GP Practice – there is more team working and you’ll have more time with your patients.

We offer flexible working to fit around your commitments. Permanent GPs have access to the NHS pension scheme and up to six weeks annual leave and two weeks study leave plus other benefits. We can also offer guaranteed sessions to independent GPs (via Service Level Agreements) and regular ad-hoc sessions for self-employed GPs (bank shifts). In short, we can find the work to suit you.

As a Greenbrook GP, you’ll have the option to work from any of the services we’ve described above, creating a portfolio role to suit you.
