Advisory Committee on Borderline Substances – 2 Members

We are recruiting 2 members to sit on the Department of Health’s Advisory Committee on Borderline Substances (ACBS) - a General Practitioner and a Paediatric Dietitian.

The ACBS advises the Secretary of State for Health on the borderline substances (nutritional and dermatological products) which are safe and suitable for NHS prescription in the community. Panel members will have the opportunity to contribute towards decision making on these products and gain an insight into prescribing policy.

The roles will require the ability to assimilate information presented, and the ability to interrogate and understand research. We are seeking to recruit appropriately qualified Committee members who have an outstanding record of achievement, personal credibility and senior level experience within the General Practice and Paediatric Dietetics profession/specialities. Candidates will also have in-depth knowledge of dermatological/nutritional formulations and knowledge about practical experience of using clinical research methodologies.

A time commitment of up to 9 days per year is required. There is no remuneration for these posts but expenses are paid.
