Be the doctor you want to be (and more)

Care UK is the country’s largest independent provider of NHS services — which means we have a constant need for the best and brightest medical talent.

We have permanent opportunities within our OOH service in the region of Suffolk. We can offer a variety of working locations across Suffolk including Bury St Edmunds, Eye, Haverhill, Ipswich, Mildenhall, Saxmundham, Stowmarket and Sudbury

With us, GPs have the opportunity to develop their skills across a whole range of areas — in everything from walk in centres, GP practices, SARCs, urgent care centres, out of hours GP services to offender health.

It doesn’t matter if you’re a GP who’s looking to broaden their clinical experience or looking for more flexible hours. We can give you the freedom and variety to develop a more fulfilling career.

Whatever your interests, we’ll make sure that your skills are kept completely up to date with a CPD and registration programme. It’s an environment where there are always opportunities to innovate and learn.

We offer flexibility with the shifts you undertake, however we are looking for paticular coverage at the following times;

Suffolk
• Ipswich GP Base 1830-2359 every weekday evening
• Overnight GP shift in Bury on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday & Sunday
• Overnight GP shift in Ipswich on Thursday, Friday, Saturday & Sunday
• Overnight ANP/GP shift in Ipswich on Friday & Saturday (weeks 1, 2 & 4)
• Friday evenings generally hard to fill in all areas
• Saturday & Sunday – 0800-2359 Ipswich base GP & Bury Base GP

Additional Information

All of our practices operate extended opening hours – including bank holidays – providing much more choice and flexibility. In addition, our out-of-hours services provide high quality care outside normal GP opening times.

We have over 17 years’ experience of delivering full GP out of hours services across England. And we were one of the first providers to set up an NHS exemplar site, based in West London, and have become the largest provider of full out of hours services in the country covering over eight million patients.

As an organisation Care UK is at the cutting edge of service development underpinned by a commitment to developing strong and effective leaders and embedding quality improvement methodologies. There is a strong track record of career progression within the organisation.
